Before any design work begins, we need to understand what’s not working and what would make it work better.
The Design Discovery Consultation is a dedicated working session to discuss your project, understand your priorities and explore the possibilities for your home. We’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and where there may be opportunities to improve your space.
You’ll come away with professional advice and a better understanding of the options available to you, along with direction on the next steps — whether or not we go on to work together.
What Happens in the Consultation
Together, we'll:
Review how your space currently functions
Explore what's not working and why
Discuss your priorities and how you want your home to work for you
Identify opportunities to improve the layout and use of your space
Talk through cabinetry requirements, where relevant
Discuss initial design ideas and practical recommendations
You don't need to arrive with a fully formed brief. Many clients come to me knowing something isn't working but aren't quite sure what needs to change. That's exactly what the consultation is designed to help with.

Following the consultation, you'll receive a concise written summary covering:
The key points we discussed
The opportunities identified in your space
Recommended next steps for your project
For some clients, this may lead into a more detailed renovation or cabinetry design service. For others, the consultation and recommendations may be all they need to move forward. There's no obligation to proceed with further design work, and no pressure to make a decision on the day.

The Investment
The Design Discovery Consultation is $495 for a 90-minute in-home session.
The consultation is a standalone service, with the fee covering the time, expertise and advice provided during the session. It is separate from any design work that follows and is not deducted from subsequent design fees.
